BRISTOW, VA — Jiffy Lube Live will require concertgoers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The new policy was announced by the venue's parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, on Friday.

The policy will go into effect on Oct. 4, the company said in a statement. All Live Nation employees, including those at Jiffy Lube Live, will need to be fully vaccinated.

Michael Rapino is the president and CEO of Live Nation. "Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows," Rapino said in a statement. "As of October 4th we will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the U.S."

Lollapalooza, which was held earlier this month, required either a vaccination or a negative test. The event, which hosted more than 300,000 people, was not a super-spreader event, according to Chicago Public Health Commissioner Dr. Alison Arwady.

The new policy is an effort to contain the coronavirus's delta variant, which has soared in recent weeks. In Prince William County, cases are at their highest level in more than three months, and vaccination rates have begun to plateau.
