Mother's Ballet Honoring Fallen Marine Opens Friday in Manassas

The ballet created by Amy Wolfe honors her son Colin, a Marine who died in Iraq

Colin J. Wolfe was a Marine who died just seven days after deployment to Iraq. He was 19. To cope with her loss, Colin’s mother Amy Grant Wolfe, artistic director of the Manassas Ballet Theatre, created a one-act performance called “Colin, The Ballet.”

That show received acclaim and coverage from sources like NPR and The Washington Post.

Now, Wolfe has revised her original show into an evening-length ballet titled “Colin: Son, Marine, Hero,” which will open at Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, in Manassas at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. The show will be accompanied by the Manassas Ballet Theatre Orchestra.
