The Search Begins: Five Golden Tickets Hid in Merry Old Towne Chocolate Bars

Five Manassas children will win a ride on Santa's float

In Willy Wonka, a 1964 novel turned 1971 film, Charlie Bucket was one of the five luckiest kids in the world when he stumbled upon a golden ticket hidden inside a Wonka bar. Now, five Manassas kids get to experience that same excitement.

Historic Manassas Inc. revived it’s successful event from last year and hid five golden tickets inside their Merry Old Towne Chocolate Bar, which started selling at participating stores around the city yesterday.

The bars cost $3.

Instead of a tour through Willy Wonka’s factory, children who find these tickets will win a spot on Santa’s sleigh in the 69 Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The winners are also invited to ride with Santa from the train depot to the museum after the Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 5. A parent or guardian is also welcome.
