Shots Injuring 2 People Leads To Panic At Manassas Mall, 3 Charged

Prince William County Police have placed charges in the shooting outside Manassas Mall that led to panic among people inside.

MANASSAS, VA — Three men have been charged in connection to the shooting that injured two people at the Manassas Mall Tuesday, according to Prince William County Police.

Police had responded around 2:08 p.m. Tuesday to shots fired in the 8300 block of Sudley Road. Officers conducted a check for an active shooting around the building. Police now believe there was an altercation between two groups in the mall's food court before it moved to the parking lot outside the mall. Shots were fired during the altercation, and both groups fled.

Uninvolved people ran into the mall to alert others to the parking lot shooting, which police said led to panic. Police have since identified two injured people. One was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, and the other was found on scene with a minor wound.

Police say two of the charged men were detained in a traffic stop shortly after the shooting. The third was a 23-year-old man was one of the injured people. Police determined the injured man was in one of the groups involved in the shooting. Police believe the other injured person, a 51-year-old man, was an uninvolved bystander.

Daevon Russell, 18, of Manassas, and Joshuah Minas Hernandez, 18, of Manassas, were each charged with two counts of malicious wounding, one count of shooting at an occupied building, one count of willfully discharging a firearm in a public place, one count of carrying a firearm in a public place, and one count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Skyler James Agley, 23, of Manassas, was charged with one count of malicious wounding, one count of shooting at an occupied building, one count of willfully discharging a firearm in a public place, and one count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He remains hospitalized in police custody.

Police remained on scene Tuesday afternoon and believe the incident was contained.
