Parking Issue Resolved at McLean Shopping Center

"No Parking" signs removed behind Santini's, family-owned upscale deli that opened last week in McLean.

It appears that McLean residents can now park at McLean Shopping Center without worrying about being towed.

As of Thursday morning, McLean Properties, owner of the shopping center, has removed the “No Parking” signs that were planted every few feet in the shopping center parking lot and reportedly saw about 30 cars get towed within the past week.

The signs sprang up just before Santini’s, a New York Style deli, opened last week at 1443 Chain Bridge Road in McLean; the upscale deli is adjacent to the lot but is not a part of McLean Shopping Center. The McLean location is one of four owned by the Lesando family, including Bob aka “Santini,” and sons Dan and Matt. (Matt will be running the McLean deli.)

The deli has parking for some cars in its own lot plus street parking for its customers. A spacious lot just behind it is part of McLean Shopping Center, where some people were seeing their cars get towed for the past week.

Bob ”Santini” Lesando said Thursday he met with Bob Montgomery of McLean Properties on Wednesday and that the two have put the parking issue behind them. Lesando said they have a good relationship and that moving forward, the two plan to be good neighbors.

Lesando said he is pleasantly surprised at how McLean residents rallied to support his business and is encouraged that everyone has acted in the best interests of the community.
