FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County is under a drought warning through the July 4th holiday, according to a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Unusually hot and dry weather have caused moderate drought conditions across much of Northern Virginia, according to National Drought Mitigation Center.

"The dry conditions bring increased risk of fires," according to a FCFRD social media post. "It's best to leave the fireworks to the professionals, but if you use fireworks at home following a few precautions can prevent your holiday from going up in flames."
