RESTON, VA — A man was stuck and killed Monday morning by a Metrorail train near Reston Town Center, according to news reports.

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority suspended service around 9:45 a.m., at Reston Town Center and at Herndon, after the body of a man was found on the tracks, according to WUSA9.

WMATA posted the following message on social media at 11:25 a.m., on Monday:

"Police have determined a person was trespassing on the tracks before being struck and killed by a train. Trains are no longer single tracking btwn Ashburn/Innovation & Largo/Wiehle. Service is still suspended at Reston & Herndon. Follow @metrorailinfo for updates. #wmata."

Initially, Silver Line trains were single-tracking between the Herndon and Wiehle-Reston East stations, but service was then stopped, WUSA9 reported.
