Vienna's Audrey Dotson Named Preseason All-Patriot League, Bucknell Picked to Finish Third

This Bison who hails from Vienna received two first-place votes.

Bucknell senior Audrey Dotson (Vienna, Va./Flint Hill School) has been voted to the Preseason All-Patriot League Women’s Basketball Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The league also released the preseason poll, which is voted on by head coaches and sports information directors, and the Bison tied Holy Cross for third with 123 points, including two first-place votes.

A 6-1 forward, Dotson was named Second Team All-Patriot League following last season. She led the Bison in both scoring at 16.1 ppg and rebounding at 6.9 rpg. Her scoring average ranked third in the conference.

Dotson proved to be one of the most consistent players in the league last season. She scored in double digits in 25 of the 28 games she started and eclipsed 20 points on 10 occasions. She also recorded five double-doubles on the season.

In a wild double overtime game with Navy, Dotson scored a career-high 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds. She matched that point total just two games later, posting a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 67-60 win at Loyola (Md.).

Dotson’s production isn’t limited to just offense. She also makes it difficult for opposing players to score in the paint, as evident by her 44 blocks last season, which ranks as the sixth best single-season mark in program history. She also owns the fifth-best total with her 46 blocks her sophomore season. In an 82-79 win over Holy Cross last year, she came through with a career-high seven blocks.
