OmniRide Express Fares To Increase In Prince William, Fredericksburg Area

Fares for OmniRide's Express routes to and from Arlington and DC will soon be higher in Prince William County and the Fredericksburg area.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Commuters traveling to Arlington and D.C. employment destinations on OmniRide buses will soon see higher fares.

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission's OmniRide will hike Express route fares from $9 to $11 each way starting on July 29. The reduced fare will be $5.50 for those with Metro-issued senior or person with disabilities SmarTrip cards. In addition, the Monthly Unlimited Pass will increase from $265 to $285.

Riders will also see differences on some Express, Metro Express, and Local bus routes starting on July 29. Express route changes will include:

  • Lake Ridge – Washington (981) route: new schedules
  • 612 Gainesville-Pentagon-L'Enfant Plaza-Navy Yard (612): timetable adjustments and moved to Bus Bay B at University Lot
  • Haymarket-Rosslyn/Ballston (622): timetable adjustments and Western Lot Connector Eliminated. That means no more mid-day or late evening trips from Pentagon to Heathcote Lot. The location moves to Bus Bay D at University Lot.
  • Manassas - Washington (601), now Gainesville – Washington (611): New schedules and moves to to Bus Bay A at University Lot
  • Manassas - Pentagon (602): Route eliminated, alternate service available on 612 route from University Lot in Gainesville
  • Manassas-Dulles Corridor/Reston/Herndon (608), now Gainesville – Dulles Corridor/Reston/Herndon (618): Route moves to Bus Bay C at University Lot, timetable adjustments

Changes to the Metro Express route include:

  • Manassas Metro Express (60): New timetables, new routing to operate only between Manassas Mall and Tysons Metro station, operating every 45 minutes, new timed transfers, alternate service between Route 28 and Manassas Hub with OmniRide Connect microtransit and from the Hub to Manassas Mall via Route 65
  • Prince William Metro Express (95): Two new stops on Potomac Mills Road between Gideon and Smoketown Road

  • Dale City (91): New stop on Potomac Mills Road between Gideon and Smoketown Road
  • Lake Ridge Connector (94): Two new stops on Potomac Mills Road between Gideon and Smoketown Road
  • Dumfries Connector (53): New stops on Potomac Mills Road between Gideon and Smoketown Road
  • Manassas – Balls Ford (65B): Route eliminated and combined with 65N to become Route 65
  • Manassas – NOVA (65N): Routing altered to serve Rolling Road/Ashton Avenue between Manassas Mall and the Hub-PWC Courthouse, as well as Sudley Manor/Williamson Blvd between Manassas Mall and the NOVA campus, connecting service at Manassas Mall to 60, connecting service Hub-PWC Courthouse to 67, 96, and OmniRide Connect, service will run every 45 minutes
