Deadpool & Wolverine jolts the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a hefty dose of R-rated humor — and its end-credits scene features one of Marvel's most beloved stars using some wild language.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's new movie — which sees Reynolds' Deadpool and Jackman's Wolverine team up for their first foray into the MCU — features a host of celebrity cameos from actors who appeared in Marvel superhero movies produced by 21st Century Fox, which Disney acquired in 2019.

As a result, characters from movies like 1998's Blade, 2005's Elektra, the 2000s Fantastic Four films, 2017's Logan and a never-produced Channing Tatum Gambit movie appear alongside Deadpool and Wolverine after they are trapped in the Void, a place where unwanted characters and beings are imprisoned and destroyed.

As Reynolds and Jackman's characters meet the movie's villain Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), they briefly band together with one such character: the Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm, portrayed by Chris Evans in a nod to his first major big-screen superhero role. Cassandra ultimately dispatches of Storm quickly after she captures the trio and Deadpool pins a series of bizarre and raunchy insults aimed at the villain on Storm, who denies saying such things.

While Evans, who otherwise has not appeared in a Marvel film since the end of his run as Steve Rogers in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, does not factor into the rest of Deadpool & Wolverine's story, he does return for a hilarious post-credits sequence.

After the movie's credits showcases a montage of behind-the-scenes moments from many of 21st Century Fox's Marvel productions, the film returns to Evans, Jackman and Reynolds' characters shortly after they are captured and shows Johnny Storm saying each of the wild insults Deadpool attributed to him earlier in the movie. The character's dialogue grows vile and raunchy, contrasting with the typically PG-13-rated Marvel banter, which surprises even Deadpool himself.

Unlike many MCU films, the post-credits sequence does not necessarily tease any future projects, though the movie hints Deadpool may have a larger role to play down the road. As far as Evans and the Fantastic Four goes, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, A Quiet Place: Day One) is slated to take on the role of Johnny Storm / the Human Torch in the MCU's own Fantastic Four movie, expected to release in theaters July 25, 2025.
