The pioneers were Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, the very first Bachelorette couple and one of the franchise's biggest success stories (they've been married almost 20 years and together have two kids).

In fact, the couples who wed on television have a decent track record, with five of the eight still going strong.

As Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his fiancée Theresa Nist prepare to wed live on ABC on Thursday night, Jan. 4, look back on all the other Bachelor Nation couples who shared their vows with millions of viewers.

A torrential downpour didn't stop The Bachelor season 13 loves Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney from getting married in front of 300 guests on Feb. 27, 2010, at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Host Chris Harrison officiated.

"Jason was so sweet and wiped tears off Molly's face," said an onlooker. As the ceremony ended, "they kissed passionately. They looked so happy to finally be married."

They took quite the road to get there: Mesnick initially proposed to Melissa Rycroft on his season, but ended up reversing his decision on one of the most wild After the Final Rose specials ever. There, he broke up with Rycroft and asked runner-up Malaney for a second chance; she accepted, and the rest is history.

“As a little girl, I always dreamed of my wedding day — what's it going to look like and what am I going to wear, but as you get older, you realize that that's not the important part,” Pepin told PEOPLE. "The important part is finding a person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. I know that Kenny is the kind of person that I want to be with forever.”
