Kelly Rowland got support from a couple of longtime pals at her film premiere.

The musician and actress, 43, reunited with fellow Destiny's Child members Beyoncé and Michelle Williams at the Thursday premiere of her new project — Netflix thriller, Mea Culpa — in New York City.

Rowland posed for photos with Beyoncé and Rowland separately at The Paris Theater as she celebrated the new film, directed by Tyler Perry. Both women also toasted Rowland on social media after the night wrapped.

"Dats my best friend! Dats my best friend," Beyoncé wrote in a supportive Instagram caption. "So proud of you Kelly 🙏🏽" Along with her sweet words, the singer shared several photos from the event, to which she brought a small entourage of loved ones including husband JAY-Z and her mother Tina Knowles.

For the outing, Beyoncé rocked a longsleeve black-and-white striped dress and hood with her blonde hair, a pair of shades and matching white heels with black stars on them. Rowland stepped out for her big night in a stylish plaid overcoat with a brown shirt, shorts and tie combo underneath along with some fishnet stockings.

Williams, 44, shared her own reaction to Mea Culpa on Instagram. "Baaaaaaaaaaaby listen!! That’s all I can say about it," she wrote to her followers.

For her look Thursday night, Williams dazzled in an all-red ensemble with hoop earrings. She and Rowland also posed for some wholesome reunion snaps on the Netflix carpet.

While speaking to PEOPLE at the event, Williams said she was there to "support my sister Kelly Rowland and Tyler Perry. This is a fun night for us," she added. "Kelly has been talking about this moment for a very long time."

Rowland also caught up with PEOPLE on Thursday, chatting about her turn as a leading lady and describing her role as “quite an experience.”

“I remember being very nervous when I read the script and I remember thinking about everything that an erotic thriller possesses and that made me very intimidated,” Rowland said. “And then I had a friend of mine who called me and he said, ‘You know, Kel, if it doesn't scare you, what's the purpose of doing it?’”

“And so I literally ran to it. I figured everything out. Tyler [Perry] was so amazing and instrumental in this whole process and Trevante [Rhodes] was just a pleasure to work with. I was very blessed.”

Rowland stars in the movie as criminal defense attorney Mea Harper, but was also a producer on the film. The project follows Mea as she takes on the murder case of artist Zyair Malloy, and explores "what happens when burning desire takes hold and things get hot . . . and dangerous," per a synopsis.

“I remember thinking that that would be such a big weight to carry," Rowland told PEOPLE of taking on the starring role. "And it still is a big weight to carry and when you do that, you wanna make sure, of course, you’re really like nailing this role."

She continued, “I feel really blessed to have had it and I want more. I would definitely, definitely like more.”

Mea Culpa will be available to stream on Netflix on Feb. 23.
