Bono was out to steal Santa’s thunder on Christmas Eve.

The U2 frontman joined Irish songwriter Glen Hansard to belt a few songs for excited fans on the sidewalks of Dublin, Ireland. Bono and his merry band of scarfed guitarists sent Christmas spirits sky high with tunes like “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

Bono and Hansard have joined together every year since 2009 to serenade the people of Grafton Street on Christmas Eve. All the tips the duo receives go to Simon Communities, a charity working to end homelessness in Ireland.

Bono certainly earned a spot on the nice list this year.
