Bret Michaels suffered minor injuries when his tour bus hit several deer Friday morning.

The rocker, 50, was traveling in a brand new bus between Abilene, Texas, and Biloxi, Miss., when the accident occurred, according to Celebuzz.

“Except for some bumps and bruises I am thankful there were no serious injuries,” the Poison frontman told the site. “It is unfortunate for the deer, but thankfully due to modern RV technology and a steel firewall we are all okay. I have every intention to make tonight’s show in Biloxi and the tour will continue.”

Michaels, who has experienced his share of near-death experiences – most recently in April 2010 when he suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – escaped serious injury from the accident.

The report says Michaels and his driver, who also happens to be his head of security, walked away with only minor cuts and bruises. The deer were killed.
