Ex Marks the Spot: Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn Have Accidental Run-In at Dinner in L.A.

Jennifer Aniston and ex Vince Vaughn almost had an accidental reunion after the She’s Funny That Way movie premiere: They both ate dinner at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles.

Aniston, who had just returned from her honeymoon in Bora Bora following her surprise wedding to Justin Theroux, walked in with her arms around two girlfriends and sat down at a secluded table. The newlywed pointed and whispered with the six friends sitting around her when Vaughn walked in and took a seat at a table with Jake Gyllenhaal.

While Aniston and Vaughn didn’t appear to have any interaction, at one point during the meal Vaughn switched seats with Gyllenhaal, putting him out of sight from Aniston’s table.

The two began dating while filming The Break-Up together in 2005, but by December 2006, they decided to call it quits. Their reps said at the time that the actors “continue to be good friends.”

Following the split, they both remained quiet about the details of their breakup and the reasons behind it. But in 2008, two years after their split, the She’s Funny That Way actress spoke sweetly of their relationship.

“I call Vince my defibrillator,” Aniston told Vogue . “He literally brought me back to life. My first gasp of air was a big laugh! It was great. I love him. He’s a bull in a china shop. He was lovely and fun and perfect for the time we had together. And I needed that. And it sort of ran its course.”

Vaughn took a little longer to come around, only recently opening up about their relationship.

“You know, she’s great,” the True Detective star told Playboy in February. “For me personally – and I think most well-known actors who are together feel this way – I never enjoyed the paparazzi side of it.”

The two dated shortly after her highly publicized divorce from Brad Pitt, when the media frenzy was at an all-time high, but the couple appeared to struggle with the stress of being in the public eye – and the constant swarm of paparazzi.

“You like someone and you’re spending time with them; that’s separate and that was all fine,” Vaughn said. “But I really spent most of that time finding ways not to be drawn into the attention.”
