Selena Gomez‘ latest album is finally here, and we have to say: Good for her!

Friday’s release of Revival marks her fifth LP to date, following three studio albums with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene and her smash 2013 solo debut Stars Dance.

Each of her previous efforts have spawned much-loved hits (see: “Love You Like a Love Song,” “Come and Get It,” “Slow Down,” et al.). But Gomez has hit her stride on Revival by infusing her lyrics with a whole lot of #realtalk (it’s her most personal record yet) and teaming up with an impressive roster of hitmakers that aided in finding her niche in the pop landscape.

Here’s five reasons why you’ll be playing Revival on repeat.

1. It’s Her Most Cohesive Album Yet – Because She’s a Total Boss.
First, there’s the fact that Gomez, 23, executive produced the entire collection (and co-wrote most of the tracks).

“She’s having fun being CEO of her business for the first time,” her co-manager Aleen Keshishian recently told Billboard. “Her work ethic is something I’ve never seen … Every visual, every marketing move, every decision is her.”

2. She Teamed Up with Some Pros (Oh hey, Charli XCX) Who Complemented Her New Direction.
Gomez recruited an impressive roster of collaborators to create her latest LP, and the entire collection is radio-ready.

Some highlights? ASAP Rocky drops in for a verse on lead single “Good For You,” while Charli XCX co-wrote sassy single No. 2, “Same Old Love.”

Elsewhere, mega-hitmaker Max Martin co-wrote and -produced standout track “Hands to Myself,” and production duo Rock Mafia have credits on several tracks.

Meanwhile, up-and-comers Mattman & Robin – who have two climbing hits at the moment, Hailee Steinfeld’s ”Love Myself” and Joe Jonas-fronted DNCE’s ”Cake By the Ocean” – teamed up with Martin and Gomez for “Hands to Myself” and also produced promotional single “Me & The Rhythm.”

3. She Embraces Her Unique Voice.
The former Disney star flaunts her trademark lower register more than ever on Revival, and her sexy tone – often delivered in breathy whispers – adds that much more to her distinct new sound.

While embracing her voice adds so much to her latest career evolution, she was once self-conscious of her lower pitch. “I thought it was a very manly voice,” she recently told FLARE magazine.

4. This Is the Most Personal She’s Ever Gotten on an Album.
Her latest LP has a slew of sexy bangers, but it’s Gomez’ openness that makes Revival so striking.

Cuts like “Camouflage” and “Sober” chronicle a crumbling relationship, while upbeat, take-the-high-road tracks like “Kill Em With Kindness” and “Rise” offer up a fresh perspective on pal Taylor Swift‘s haters-gonna-hate approach to life.

“My strength is translating emotion because I’m such a feeler,” Gomez also said in her FLARE interview. “I’ve felt so much in the past two years, from being super in love and then dealing with things to getting older and all these beautiful experiences that were complicated and exciting. That’s what I wanted the record to feel like.”

5. She’s Owning Her Independent, Take-Charge Persona.
While many interpret lead single’s lyrics as dressing up to impress a man, Gomez was adamant about being solo in the video.

“I didn’t want a damn guy in there,” she said in her recent Billboard cover story, in which she revealed she’s struggled with the autoimmune disorder lupus. “I t’s about how I feel. Yes, it’s sexual and captivating, but that’s what makes a woman. We have that over guys. I love looking at women. I’d rather look at a woman than a guy.”
