Don't tell Christie Brinkley that she can’t do anything because of her age.

Since turning 70 this past February, the supermodel has been feeling more empowered than ever, and she doubled down on her confidence in a new Instagram post on July 23.

Brinkley shared a sexy snapshot from her recent Social Life Magazine cover shoot, in which she models a plunging olive green dress, the low V-neck accentuated with a gold buckle. Her hair is blown out to perfection.

Brinkley accompanied the photo with her candid thoughts on aging.

“I think 70 is the new 40. A great time to take on new challenges, volunteer, travel or start a new company. The sky is the limit. Now is a great time to make your dreams and goals a reality! Here’s to loving the age you’re in!” she wrote.

Many of her followers applauded her take on getting older. One fan wrote, “This is how I want to be at 70!” and another commented, “I am embracing getting older and living my life the way I want too.”

These days, Brinkley is booked and busy in her older age, from launching a clothing line with HSN to getting a feature in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 60th Anniversary issue.

However, there was once a time when she thought she’d be “chewed up and spit out” of modeling by the age of 30 because she was told so.

"Fifty isn't 50 anymore. Thirty isn't 30 anymore,” she told PEOPLE exclusively in June when she launched a clothing collection with HSN.

"It's the start of a great decade," she said of entering a new decade. "I'm hearing from women on my Instagram, like, 'Now I'm looking forward to my 7-0. I was kind of dreading it, but you're making it look so fun. And it is really important to make it fun and so far so great."
