So when it came to wedding planning, they left much of it up to Mother Nature. “Tyler and I are both laid back and we don’t like fancy things, so we wanted something that represented us and that wasn’t too far from our house,” Freeman tells PEOPLE of their Oct. 10 ceremony at Mint Springs Farm in Nolensville. “We wanted things to be simple and intimate.” The venue includes a covered pavilion with a nearby two-story reception barn, and the couple opted for understatement in their décor, which was accented with sunflowers (the bride’s favorite) and white roses. “It’s so beautiful on its own without any decoration,” Hannah says of the location. With the bucolic view, rustic wooden barn and a nearby lake (where some of the groomsmen and Farr’s dad fished earlier in the day), “it’s kind of my dream place to get married,” the country singer says. Greg and Jess Photography Hannah kept it simple with her dress as well. “I’ve never been the type of girl to dream about my wedding day,” she says. “I never picked out wedding dresses before I was engaged. But my twin sister got married about six months before I did and we went dress shopping together so I knew I wanted something simple and lace.” The strapless ivory lace Stella York creation she chose was “classic,” she says. It was, he admits, enough to bring a tear to his eye, but it wasn’t the first that day. Before the ceremony, the couple exchanged hand-written letters rather than wedding gifts (although Hannah did sneak in two cans of dip for Farr — “to calm his nerves!”). “I was trying not to cry as I was reading it,” the “Redneck Crazy” singer says of the letter. “It didn’t work out!
