Anthony Michael Hall was booked on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace Tuesday after an altercation with a neighbor at his Los Angeles condo building.

The neighbor said the Brat Pack actor, 43, was ripping up plants in the common area of the complex. When the neighbor asked what he was doing, Hall allegedly responded with an obscenity and threatened to “beat him to a pulp,” reports the Los Angeles Times.

Hall later allegedly knocked on the man’s door and challenged him to a fight. The man declined, and called police.

Hall is best known for his film roles in Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club, and for his six seasons on USA Network’s supernatural drama The Dead Zone.
