In July 2022, it was announced that Ribeiro, 52, would be co-hosting season 31 of DWTS alongside then-host Tyra Banks. It also marked the first season of the series moved to stream on Disney+ instead of airing live on ABC, where it first debuted.

Julianne, 36, later joined as a co-host in season 32 days after ABC announced that Banks was stepping away from her hosting gig after three seasons in March 2023. The actress previously starred as a pro dancer on DWTS from 2007 to 2009. She later returned as a judge for six seasons between 2014 and 2021.

In June 2023, Ribeiro spoke about his excitement for Julianne to join the show in a hosting capacity.

"Our chemistry, I think, is going to be fantastic. We've known each other for so long. She was a judge on my season," he told Entertainment Tonight. "We've known each other through the years and our energy just feels so right. We sat and had lunch and two-and-a-half hours later, we're going, 'I guess we should go home and do stuff.' And I think that that kind of chemistry and friendship is going to come through on the show to the audience."

As for the judges, Inaba, 56, and Tonioli, 68, have been serving in their roles since DWTS' start on ABC in June 2005.

Derek, 39, joined the series as a judge in season 29 and has continued to serve on the judging panel ever since. He was originally a pro dancer on the series from season 5 through 11. Though he took a break for season 12, he returned for season 13-21 and again in season 23.

In September 2020, it was announced that he would be returning to the show but shifting to a judging role. "This show has been and will always be incredibly special to me," Derek said in a statement at the time. "Coming back feels like coming home and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the ballroom."

Dancing with the Stars is produced in front of a live audience by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.
