Emma Roberts Is Engaged to Cody John!

Emma Roberts is ready to walk down the aisle!

The American Horror Story star, 33, revealed on Instagram Tuesday, July 16, that she’s engaged to actor Cody John.

“putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️,” Roberts captioned a photo of the couple smiling as she flashed her ring. 

The Space Cadet star's engagement post is an apparent nod to her mom Kelly Cunningham, who earlier this year debuted her son Rhodes, 3, whom Roberts shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, on social media without telling her.  

“When your mom posts your sons [sic] face without asking but you love them both so whatever,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories Feb. 9, resharing Cunningham’s photo of Rhodes.

John, who has appeared in Hulu's Wu-Tang: An American Saga and The CW's In the Dark, confirmed the couple’s romance in August 2022 when he posted a photo kissing Roberts on Instagram with the caption, "sweet sweet."

Later that year Roberts debuted their relationship on Instagram when she shared a photo of them holding hands. "#2022 I loved you ❤️ happy new year hotties!" she captioned the post shared on New Year's Eve.

In January 2023, the two were spotted sharing a kiss while out in New York City. A few months later, Roberts and John were seen out again holding hands in Los Angeles.

"I never want to talk about relationships I'm in or that are ending or have ended. It's hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience," Roberts previously told Cosmopolitan about her decision to keep her love life private.

While it’s not clear how the duo first connected, a source told E! News that Roberts and John first met through mutual friends.

"She's been very content with Cody and they're enjoying their relationship and time together," the source told the outlet. "Their friends and family are happy for the both of them and think they make a great couple."

In February 2023, Johan marked Roberts’ birthday with an Instagram post dedicated to the actress. "happy birthday sheesh 🫠🫠," he wrote alongside a picture of her at the time. 

Later that year the Maybe I Do actress celebrated John’s birthday with a series of photos on Instagram, including a snap of the couple riding in a helicopter and enjoying time on a sunny patio.

"happy birthday sheesh 🫠❤️," she wrote in the caption.

In July, Roberts opened up to PEOPLE and revealed the last time she had been moved to tears was while watching a movie with John.

"I watched the movie The Iron Claw with my boyfriend, and the two of us were sobbing," Roberts says. "It was just a disaster of crying and then laughing at each other for crying, which made us cry even harder."
