Theresa Nist Has Bridal Wardrobe Malfunction Mid-Golden Bachelor Wedding Ceremony — but Gerry Can't Look Away!

Theresa Nist chose a dazzling dress for her wedding to Gerry Turner on Thursday night — but the night wasn't without one little mishap.

Before the couple could seal their nuptials with a kiss, one strap on Nist's Badgley Mischka gown broke! Nothing could rain on the happy couple's parade, though, and the rest of the ceremony went off without a hitch. In fact, Turner couldn't take his eyes off his bride!

The Golden Bachelor, 72, and his bride, 70, exchanged vows live on ABC, following their engagement on the finale of last year's show.

Nist walked down the aisle in a "traditional and modern" Badgley Mischka dress fit for a princess.

The gown Nist chose featured a strapless plunging neckline and fitted bodice with mermaid silhouette. It also had a voluminous tulle train for added drama down the aisle. The bride topped her look with a matching veil to complete her look.

Nist brought her loved ones along to help her pick her gown, including her daughter, Jen Woolston, and fellow Golden Bachelor contestant Susan Noles.

“I was presented with these incredibly gorgeous gowns from Badgley Mischka, and I was overwhelmed,” Nist told PEOPLE. “I asked each one of these beautiful women to go pick their favorite. And then I picked three of mine, and I walked down the stairs with them. And when it was the dress, they unanimously thought this was the good gown. I think Susan was so proud because that's the one I picked out!”

During the Golden Wedding special, Nist showed a few of the dresses she didn't pick before revealing the winning dress. The moment she entered the room, all of her loved ones clapped and shed a few tears. "This is the one," Nist said to them all, clearly in love with the gorgeous gown that she'd ultimately wear for her wedding to Turner.

At the ceremony, Turner stood by her side wearing a traditional tux, while Nist was joined by her daughter as her matron of honor. Her daughter-in-law Amanda Nist and Turner's daughters Angie Warner and Jenny Young served as bridesmaids, while Turner's granddaughters Charlee and Payton served as junior bridesmaids. They all wore Badgley Mischka to match the bride.

This is the second wedding for both Nist and Turner. Nist first married William “Billy” Nist when she was 18 before he was drafted into the Vietnam War. They were married for more than 42 years before he died in 2014.

Turner was married to his wife, Toni Turner, for more than 40 years as well, before she died in 2017.

For Nist's first trip down the aisle, she wore an equally dreamy long-sleeve dress that she bought off the rack fitting of the time period. It included puffed sleeves and a high neckline. She also wore a romantic veil made of what looked like lace floral appliqués that laid on top of the headpiece and wrapped around her long hair. 

Her husband wore a white tuxedo jacket, classic black trousers, a black bow-tie and traditional dress shoes. 

Speaking to PEOPLE last year, Turner said he wanted to make sure Nist was comfortable with the wedding planning this time around because he knew her first wedding was rushed while she and her husband-to-be tried to jet down the aisle before he headed off to the war.

“See, you’ve got to remember, Theresa didn't get — her first time around, she didn't have much time to plan and really, I didn't either,” Turner shared. "We didn't have a whole lot of time and [we were] pretty broke, both of us. So this is kind of big. We want to make it so we don't miss any of the moments.”

Turner and Nist's relationship played out over the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor, resulting in Turner dropping to one knee and proposing to Nist with a "vintage-inspired" Neil Lane Couture ring.

“The symbolism of it is so important,” Turner told PEOPLE exclusively of the ring he chose with the jeweler. “It was just like, the minute she slipped it on, again, it was like, ‘Oh, my god, this is that joyful happiness that I want to feel, that I want everyone to see.’”
