As a mom, Goldie Hawn is grateful for all the unique things her children each bring to the table.

The actress, 78, appeared on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast for the most recent episode, which dropped Wednesday, June 12, and revealed that while she loves and appreciates all her kids equally, daughter Kate Hudson "thinks Oliver [Hudson]'s my favorite."

"I tried to say to her, 'You know, nobody's really my favorite. ... You're all different,' " said Hawn, who shares Kate, 45, and Oliver, 47, with ex Bill Hudson, and is mom to son Wyatt Russell, 37, with longtime love Kurt Russell. (She is also stepmom to Kurt's son Boston Russell, 44.)

"But the truth is," Hawn said, " ... [your] firstborn is always one of the most interesting and memorable experiences, particularly because you don't have other children. You only have one — until you have the second one, if that's what you're gonna do — and that's what happened."

And when she was pregnant with Kate, Hawn said, "I thought, 'How am I ever gonna love another child the way I love my firstborn?' "

"The answer came when Katie was born, and that is that we have so much love in our heart that you just can't even measure it," said the First Wives Club star. "That's what happened."

Elsewhere during the same interview, Hawn recalled a time when Kate was just starting out in show business herself, and telling her mother how interviewers always asked her about Hawn.

"I told her, 'The truth of the matter is we have to embrace each other,' " she told Ripa, 53. " 'I mean, yes, you're gonna talk about me, and one day I'm gonna talk about you. And I'm gonna be Katie's mother, and that could be pretty cool.' "

Hawn and Hudson have been open about their close-knit relationship over the years, from the personal bond they share to their connection over their careers.

Back in April, the Oscar winner shared an Instagram post featuring a sweet throwback image alongside Kate, in honor of the latter's 45th birthday.

“Happy birthday, my darling daughter @katehudson," Hawn began in the caption. "Among all the things you have already accomplished in your life — amazing mother, great dancer, Academy Award-nominated actress, and now a fantastic singer — let us not forget you were the fastest runner in high school and all of LA!"

"SO KEEP ON RUNNING SWEETHEART. You’re a RACEHORSE. I love you ❤️ 🎉🎂🥳😘,” concluded Hawn.

Kate thanked her mom in the comment section: “Haha! Mama you’re the best! Being fast is still my favorite accomplishment 😜 Catch me if you can!! 😆💃 Love you so much ❤️.”
