Happy National “I Voted” Sticker Selfie Day!

It’s the one day a year that an Instagram feed full of shameless selfies is a good thing: celebrities from Taylor Swift to Cameron Diaz, regular citizens like us and of course the candidates themselves, have done their civic duty and ‘grammed the proof. Not with a snap from inside the voting booth, which Justin Timberlake unintentionally taught us is quite illegal — Eric Trump must have missed the memo — but with a snap of a little flag sticker, proudly displayed.

The cutest Election Day selfie no doubt belongs to interior design’s first couple: Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. The pair posted an adorable family portrait outside of the voting booth with daughter Poppy. The 17-month-old not only added some extra sweetness to the snap, but underlined the message Brent shared. “Today I voted for the first female president with my daughter by my side,” he writes on the post. “A vote that not only signals change and a social evolution, but promises the opportunities and visibility that every woman deserves inherently.”

Brent added that his was “a vote for peace, tolerance, experience, unity, resolve and respect. A vote for belief, not fear. A vote for humanity.”

Berkus posted a black-and-white version of the same photo, captioning it: “Today we voted for @hillaryclinton with our daughter by our side.”

Should we just start making the Poppy Brent-Berkus 2044 buttons now?
