"This is something we talked about and we are on the same page. We have a couple of rules with it, but this is what we are exploring," Taylor said

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's relationship continues to evolve amid their ongoing separation.

During the Friday, May 31 episode of the estranged couple’s When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany podcast, a solo Taylor, 44, began the episode by addressing reports that he was back on the dating scene after he was spotted spending time with model Paige Woolen.

The Vanderpump Rules alum’s proclamation follows the February announcement that the married couple were separating after four years of marriage.

"I am not — I repeat not — dating anybody. I was seen out with someone and it was strictly lunch. Obviously, Brittany and I are separated and have been for a long time,” the star of The Valley asserted at the top of the episode. “I want to make that very clear. We’ve been separated for a long time.”

“What we are going through right now is tough,” Taylor said. “Marriage is not easy."

As the pair continues to navigate their separation, Taylor revealed they are considering different ways to manage their relationship, including “therapy, separation, and maybe, possibly, dating other people.”

"We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road — if that would be the case," Taylor said.

He continued by revealing that the former couple “are both on the same page about dating other people,” noting, “That is okay.”

"We are both in agreement that this is okay. The most important thing, though, is our son." The Bravo stars share 3-year-old son, Cruz.

Taylor provided more insight into the couple’s agreement regarding the possibility of dating other people. "Part of taking some time apart means exploring other people. All marriages are different, but this is what is good for our marriage. This is something we talked about and we are on the same page. We have a couple of rules with it, but this is what we are exploring."

The Bravo star reiterated that he believes both parties are engaging in this new arrangement, noting that his estranged wife is “doing what she’s doing.”

“I know it's not out there what she is doing,” he said. “But she's doing her own thing, too.”

As he concluded the introductory statements, Taylor denied the speculations that he was romantically involved with Woolen. "I am not dating anybody—nor do I plan on dating anybody," Taylor said.

He confessed: "I don't know if I am ready to start the dating thing again. I don't think I am. We are just hanging out right now with whoever. I know Brittany is probably doing her own thing too. We are in agreement about it."

On Thursday, May 30, Taylor also denied he was involved with Woolen in an X (formerly known as Twitter) post.

“I am not dating anyone and I wish you all knew the full story of this situation. Its not what you think. 😔," he wrote in the brief statement following the two's Saturday, May 25 outing.
