At the Roy Thomson Hall on Sunday, Sept. 8, Hamill, 72, posed with his wife Marilou York and their daughter Chelsea at the world premiere of his animated film The Wild Robot. The couple, who married in 1978, have three adult children: Chelsea, Nathan and Griffin. The Wild Robot is an "epic adventure" directed by Chris Sanders that "follows the journey of a robot — ROZZUM unit 7134, 'Roz' for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling." Jemal Countess/Getty Aside from Hamill, the voice cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry and Ving Rhames. Hamill is also at TIFF to support his movie The Life of Chuck, a Stephen King adaptation. He shared a photo on Instagram of himself at the Sept. 6 world premiere, looking excited as he sat next to King, 76. "It’s not often I’m seated next to a literary genius & one of my all-time favorite authors: Stephen King," wrote Hamill. "It took every ounce of discipline I possess to avoid freaking out & exposing myself as the weak-kneed, slavish fan-boy I truly am." In February, the Star Wars actor celebrated his wife on her birthday, writing on Instagram, "Marilou, you are my forever dream & are younger in spirit today than when I first met you. May you have the happiest of birthdays." On their 45th wedding anniversary in December 2023, Hamill wrote that he is "eternally grateful" that Marilou said "I do," and the actor called her the "Love Of My Life." The Wild Robot is in theaters Sept. 27.
