On May 16, all eyes were on the lifestyle mogul as she celebrated the magazine's 60th anniversary issue at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City. Michael Loccisano/Getty The 82-year-old businesswoman wore a short-sleeved, loosely fitting crochet coverup with fringe tassels over a silk, champagne-colored ankle-length dress. She wore gold peep-toe heels to the event. Stewart kept her look elegant with a long beaded necklace reminiscent of pearls. The item was layered and she wore earrings in the same color family and bangles on each of her wrists. The podcast host became a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit star in May 2023, when she made her debut on the cover. Last year's roster also included Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader. Stewart, who modeled plunging bathing suits and cover-ups for the issue, made history as the oldest woman to front the publication. Maye Musk, Elon Musk's mom, previously held the title after she appeared on the cover in 2022 at 74. "It's important to stand up to challenges, whether they're beauty challenges or intellectual challenges, even philanthropic challenges," Stewart told PEOPLE before her spot was unveiled. Musk, now 76, Christie Brinkley, 70, Paulina Porizkova, 59, Tyra Banks, 50 and Gayle King, who fronted her first SI Swimsuit issue at 69 this year, are the models age 50 and over wearing gowns in the star-studded shoot. Modeling vets Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen and Hunter McGrady are also 2024 cover stars, while Brittany Mahomes and Xandra Pohl are among the Rookies. Stewart told PEOPLE of the major moment in April, teasing the official unveiling that happened this week. "I mean, Christie Brinkley and Tyra Banks and all of them. Fantastic. And I look just as good as they did, which was even better. I'm joking, of course." Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 60th anniversary issue is available on newsstands May 17.
