Derrick, 27, has released two separate statements since the May 29 premiere of the Netflix docuseries, which alleges she and several other individuals are part of an alleged cult overseen by Robert Shinn, the founder of the Shekinah Church. Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE, Wilking says her sister’s statements make it “very clear” to her that her sister “did not watch the documentary." “Because if she did, she would know that it's so much bigger than just our family situation and it goes deeper, 25-plus years of Robert controlling these people,” she adds. All About the TikTok Star at the Center of Netflix's Dancing for the Devil In her first statement, shared Tuesday, June 4 on Derrick’s social media accounts, the TikTok star denied claims made by her family and others about Robert Shinn’s 7M organization and described the docuseries as “one-sided.” “I love my Mom, Dad and Melanie and they will forever be a part of my life. The truth is, we just don't see eye to eye at this time. I believe that this documentary is a one-sided story,” she said at the time. In her second statement, shared on Monday, June 10, Derrick said that she and her husband James "BDash" Derrick have received death threats and been stalked following the release of the series. Wilking tells PEOPLE that their family "never wanted any sort of violence to come her way" reiterating that the family's "only intent" in speaking out was " to save her from an unsafe environment and to give her love and know that we're here to support her.".
