Michael J. Fox Says It Was ‘F------ Mind-Blowing’ Playing with Coldplay at Glastonbury Festival

The actor gave a shout-out to the band's team, saying they "took such great care of us" at the show

Michael J. Fox had a blast performing with Coldplay!

In an Instagram post on Sunday, June 30, the 63-year-old actor reflected on joining the band onstage to perform their hit song "Fix You" during their headlining set at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, June 29.

Fox gave a shout-out to both his team and Coldplay, describing his experience at the U.K. music festival as "f------ mind-blowing."

“Glastonbury, all the love and thanks to the @coldplay team who took such great care of us,” he wrote in the caption, before acknowledging the band's members. “And many thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil.”

Fox continued, “Oh yeah in case you were wondering…it was f------ mind-blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time. This is @coldplay’s time.”

The actor also teased that he will be sharing more photos soon from his time at the festival.

The carousel includes a picture of Fox with three members of his team during the set, as well as a photo of the Teen Wolf star in an orange cap in front of a sign that says, "Optimism is a political act."

A third image shows a welcome sign for the festival, while another captures a sign that says, “Coldplay special guest.” The last part of Fox's post is a short clip of the band backstage. 

During the concert, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told the crowd that Fox played a pivotal role in the band’s inception, according to a video of the moment shared by BBC.

“The main reason we’re in a band is because of watching Back to the Future," the 46-year-old rocker said, referencing the actor’s popular 1985 movie. “So thank you to our hero forever and one of the most amazing people on Earth, Mr. Michael J. Fox. Thank you so much Michael, our hero.”

Fox previously collaborated with Coldplay at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in July 2016, when they performed “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry — a song which was featured in the aforementioned movie.

Other celebrities who were spotted at Coldplay’s performance include Martin’s fiancée, Dakota Johnson, and Mission: Impossible costars Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg, along with Gillian Anderson.
