Dave Franco Jokes About Saving Wife Alison Brie's Custom Dress from a Bush at the Golden Globes

Dave Franco opened up about the viral moment in which he saved wife Alison Brie's custom Vera Wang dress from a bush at the Golden Globe Awards

Dave Franco doesn’t take his duties as a husband lightly.

In an interview on the TODAY show on Friday, the If Beale Street Could Talk actor joked about the seemingly small moment in which he saved wife Alison Brie’s custom Vera Wang dress from a bush at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month.

“She got her dress caught in the bush and I went in and took it out of the bush and then it became a big thing,” the 33-year-old actor said of saving the GLOW star’s dress.

Franco laughed at how the photos of the occasion were talked about on the Internet, saying, “I gotta look out for her.”

“She put a lot of work into hair and makeup, and that dress. We gotta make sure she’s looking perfect,” he said. “She looked beautiful that night.”

Brie, 36, appeared surprised when the skirt of her custom tulle gown appeared to move out of place while on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Her husband quickly realized that something didn’t look quite right with Brie’s dramatic train, so he jumped in to fix her skirt before an accident could happen.

Franco looked proud of himself as he stepped away to let his wife take back the spotlight on the red carpet.
