The actress also played the Golden Globe-nominated lead role of Sam Fox on FX's Better Things from 2016 to 2022. However, the actor mainly worked on the stage, with two Tony Award nominations for Eastern Standard and Our Country's Good. Frechette has been together with his partner, theater and TV director David Warren, since 1988. In 2022, Luft and her sister Liza Minnelli developed a Judy Garland fragrance for what would've been their mother's 100th birthday. Years after his fiancé Geena Davis left him for Jeff Goldblum in 1985, McDonald met actress and future wife Lupe Gidley.
