To finish the film, his brothers Caleb Walker and Cody Walker stepped in – doubling for the actor in critical scenes to help finish his storyline. Now, nearly three years later, the Walker brothers say that experience helped them grieve their loss. “We got to understand more about Paul, and what he was all about,” Caleb told Cameron Mathison in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “We had to share Paul with a lot of people, in a weird way. He was gone a lot, he was filming, so we missed him. To kind of get that closure, and understanding [of] Paul was really special.” He went on to say that Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese and Ludacris shared “some really cool stories” about Paul that helped the brothers understand their famous sibling more. “Paul kept a lot of things about work kind of quiet with his family and friends, and so we were able to learn some things through [his co-stars],” Caleb said. “We had a really good talk with Vin,” he added. “Vin is like the godfather, he really is. And he kind of became our godfather in a weird way. He obviously knew Paul so well. He shared things with us that Cody and I [didn’t know].” The Walker brothers may have more time to get to know the Furious cast in the future too. While Paul’s character, Brian O’Conner, left the gang in Furious 7 – there’s a chance he might return. RELATED VIDEO :Remembering Paul Walker on His Birthday – The Actor’s Legacy, 3 Years After His Tragic Death “I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back,” Caleb explained. “He wanted [our] blessing.” The two reportedly discussed if and when it “would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back … to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there.” It’s a concern of Furious‘s studio too. “Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family,” Cody confessed. In the meantime, the two are busy keeping Paul’s memory alive – through the late star’s disaster relief nonprofit organization, Reach Out WorldWide. In honor of Paul’s birthday, friends and family will come together Saturday for the second annual Game4Paul fundraiser. The event will be streamed live through Twitch TV, Facebook Live, and game4paul.com. Beginning at 12 p.m. PST, fans will be able to interact with celebrities through live chat features and donate. The funds from the six-hour event will go on to support the Louisiana flood victims and help ROWW prepare to respond to similar disasters. “It’s what he left behind for us,” Cody explained. “and for that reason we’re going to support it and keep it going for as long as we possibly can. It’s a piece of him.”
