Celebrity Blended Families Who've Made It Work in Hollywood

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

Since tying the knot in July 2022, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have blended their five kids into a big family unit. The Marry Me star has her twins Max and Emme, 14, whom she shares with ex Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares children Samuel, 10, Seraphina, 13, and Violet, 16 with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

The couple celebrated their first Christmas as husband and wife enjoying the expanded household. In her On the JLo newsletter, the singer reflected on the holiday well-spent.

"We have blended families, doubled the people, doubled the fun, doubled the love, doubled the presents and tripled the chaos!!" Lopez wrote about her merry celebration.

All five of Lopez and Affleck's kids gave them away at their wedding.

Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker

Kourtney Kardashian's family is already famously big, but there were even more to "keep up" with when the mom of three married Travis Barker, a parent to three as well. The duo made it official on May 15 (the second of their three "weddings," but the first legal one), and thus the "Kravis" blended family was born!

Kardashian shares her daughter Penelope, 10, and sons Reign, 8, and Mason, 13, with her ex Scott Disick. Barker is dad to daughter Alabama, 17, and son Landon, 19, both of whom he shares with ex Shanna Moakler. The Blink-182 drummer is also stepdad to Moakler's 23-year-old daughter Atiana De La Hoya.

The Poosh owner has long been open about her open-arms policy for the many kids in her life. "I think that the more kids, the merrier," said Kardashian on the season 2 finale of The Kardashians. "You have all these siblings and more people to love. It's a beautiful thing."

Megan Fox & Machine Gun Kelly

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are merging families! The couple got engaged in January 2022, and their union also knits together their broods. The "Emo Girl" singer is already dad to one daughter, 13-year-old Cassie Colson Baker (whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon), and soon he'll be taking on the title of stepdad to Fox's three kids. She shares Noah, 10, Bodhi, 8, and Journey, 6, with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green.

Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have raised a total of six kids: Beau, 5, Finn, 10, Hattie, 11, Stella, 14, Liam, 15, and Jack, 24, the eldest of whom McDermott shares with ex Mary Jo Eustace. Though they're not related biologically, Spelling and her stepson have formed a tight bond since she and his dad married in 2006, when Jack was 6 years old.

In honor of Jack's 21st birthday, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star took to Instagram to detail their relationship's growth over the years. Spelling wrote that at the time of her marriage to McDermott, Jack "was going thru so much and his mom and dad were trying their best to navigate a very difficult situation for a boy his age. Divorce." She added that the two bonded over "dogs, his rabbit DIY school project, tag, hide and seek, and video games."

When Jack came out as gay, the two "bonded again," said Spelling in her social media tribute. "We found each other on a new level with a whole new respect for each other."

Gwyneth Paltrow & Brad Falchuk

Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, American Horror Story producer Brad Falchuk, waited a year after their marriage to move in together. According to Paltrow, they delayed sharing a home so their children could have time to adjust to the new situation.

"We took a year to let everybody [in the family] take it in and let the dust settle," the Goop creator told InStyle in 2019.

Paltrow (who shares her son Moses, 16, and daughter Apple, 18, with her ex Chris Martin) admits she was initially intimidated by the challenge of step-parenting. Speaking on The Goop Podcast in 2021, she reflected on her own adjustment after marrying Falchuk.

"I have two beautiful stepchildren, who are the same age as mine," Paltrow said of Falchuk's two kids, Brody, 16, and Isabella, 18, both of whom he shares with ex Suzanne Bukinik. "It's funny because when I became a stepmother, when I knew I was going to become a stepmother, I was like, 'S—, I have no idea how to do this. There's nothing to read. What do I do? Where do I step in? Where do I not? Like, how do I do this?'"

Ashlee Simpson & Evan Ross

Ashlee Simpson shares her eldest son, Bronx Mowgli, 14, with her ex-husband Pete Wentz. She welcomed her younger two, son Ziggy, 2, and daughter Jagger, 7, with her current husband Evan Ross.

Cardi B & Offset

Cardi B and Offset share two children together– Wave, 16 months, and Kulture, 4. The Migos rapper also has three other kids from previous relationships, both of whom he said Cardi "treats them as if they're her kids" in conversation with Essence magazine in April 2022.

Speaking about his wife's relationship with her stepdaughter Kalea, 7, and stepsons Kody, 7, and Jordan, 13, Offset added, "It could be an issue, but I don't have to go through that, and that's beautiful."

Lisa Bonet & Jason Momoa

Even though Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa split up in January 2022 after 17 years together, their family has remained close and intact. Together they share daughter Lola, 15, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 14, (pictured with Momoa's mother, Coni), but the Aquaman star is also stepdad to actress Zoë, 34, whom Bonet shares with Lenny Kravitz.

Though Kravitz says it took a lot of effort to "become best friends" with his ex-wife again, as he told U.K. publication The Times in 2018, he eventually found a way to reconnect with Bonet. (They were married from 1987 to 1993). "Our families are blended," he said. The "Fly Away" singer added that Momoa is "like a brother" to him and that he "[loves] the kids," Lola and Nakoa-Wolf.

As for Momoa, he's made it clear the feeling is mutual (he and Kravitz even have matching rings!). The Game of Thrones alum also shows his dedication as a stepdad. Speaking to Men's Health in 2020, he shared a wish for his own: "I hope and pray my daughter is that talented and loving and open and close to her family [as Zoë]," he said.

Kate Hudson's Family

Kate Hudson has three children by three different fathers, and as a result, she's surrounded by a blended family that embraces healthy co-parenting. She and her ex-husband, musician Chris Robinson, welcomed their son Ryder in 2004. Several years later in 2011, Hudson had a second child, her son Bingham, with ex Matt Bellamy, from whom she split in 2014. In 2018, Hudson and her current fiancé Danny Fujikawa welcomed Rani, the only daughter of Hudson's bunch.

Despite their ended romances, Hudson stays on good terms with her kids' dads. The actress spent Easter Sunday 2022 with Bingham, Rani and their dads, Bellamy and Fujikawa. Bellamy's wife Elle Evans and their daughter Lovella were also there to enjoy the happy holiday as one cohesive unit.

Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen

When Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen married in 1995, they both inherited two new stepkids. Danson was already Dad to Alexis, 38, and Kate, 43 (pictured here with ex-husband Jesse Bochco, top left), whom he shares with ex Casey Coates. Steenburgen had her kids Charlie, 39, and Lilly, 41, with her ex-husband Malcolm McDowell.

Nick Cannon's Family

When it comes to co-parenting, Nick Cannon is a pro. The TV personality has 12 kids whom he shares with four different moms.

His eldest two are 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey. With model Brittany Bell, Cannon has three: daughter Powerful Queen, 2, and sons Rise Messiah, 3 months, and Golden Sagon, 5. The Masked Singer host and Abby De La Rosa share a 1-month-old daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin, and twin boys Zion and Zillion, born in June 2021. Bre Tiesi made Cannon a father of eight in July 2022, when they welcomed son Legendary Love, and he became Dad to nine when he and LaNisha Cole's daughter Onyx Ice arrived a few months later, in September. Cannon and Alyssa Scott share his youngest, daughter Halo Marie, who was born in December 2022, and son Zen, who died at five months old the previous December after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman

When it comes to family, the singer and her ex-husband will always make it work.

Aguilera shared an intimate shot of herself, Bratman and her son Max during his 12th birthday festivities, writing, "We make blended families work. It's a beautiful thing.💞"

Bruce Willis & Demi Moore

After 13 years of marriage, Willis and Moore share three daughters together: Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. But the family has grown since Willis married Emma Heming in 2009: the father of three is now a father of five and big sister Rumer could not be happier to have little sisters Mabel and Evelyn added to the Willis crew.

"You are my best friends for life. You make me a better version of myself everyday and I am so excited to embark on another year with you," Rumer captioned this sweet sister photo.

Mohamed & Yolanda Hadid

In addition to strong family genes, the Hadids have strong family values that keep them close as a blended family. Real estate developer Mohamed's first marriage to ex-wife Mary Butler ended in 1992 and the former couple share Marielle and Alana together. Then, when Mohamed married ex-wife and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda in 1994, the couple welcomed Gigi, Bella and Anwar before they split in 2000. Despite what went on with their parents, the Hadid kids remain super close.

Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth

The Toth family shared this picture-perfect Christmas card on mama Witherspoon's Instagram in 2018. The photo includes Ava and Deacon, whom Witherspoon shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, and Tennessee, whom the star shares with her hubby Toth.

Kevin & Eniko Hart

Baby Kenzo Kash is the latest addition to the Hart Family. Kevin and Eniko welcomed their first child together in 2017 and he's already enjoying family vacations with older sister Heaven and brother Hendrix, whom Kevin shares with ex-wife Torrei Hart.

The title of most famous blended family in Hollywood has to go to the Kardashian-Jenners. Throughout their 23-year marriage, Kris and ex Caitlyn (formerly known as Bruce) shared 10 children together.

Caitlyn has four kids from previous marriages: Burt and Cassandra with ex Chrystie Scott and Brandon and Brody with ex Linda Thompson. Kris has four children from her first marriage to the late Robert Kardashian: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob. Then, the couple added the youngest siblings Kendall and Kylie to their kid count before Kris filed for divorce in 2014.

Russell Wilson & Ciara

The Wilsons have their hands full with Future Zahir, whom Ciara shares with rapper Future, and their baby girl Sienna Princess Wilson.

The Smiths celebrated 20 years of marriage in December 2017, and according to Jada, have evolved their relationship status from "married" to "life partners" to "dissolve all the expectations" they had of marriage.
