Third Child on the Way for Dave Grohl

The Grohl family is growing.

Dave Grohl and wife Jordyn Blum are expecting their third child later this year, PEOPLE has learned.

At Thursday’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer, 45, posed for photos with his hand on 37-year-old Blum’s belly.

The couple’s upcoming arrival will join big sisters Violet Maye, 8 this month, and Harper Willow, 5 this month.

Grohl has been sweetly open about how fatherhood has profoundly changed both his life and work in recent years.

“When you have kids, you see life through different eyes,” he told TIME magazine in 2010.

“You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”

That compassion was clear Thursday evening, when Grohl extended a hand to Kurt Cobain‘s widow Courtney Love as they stood on stage receiving the honor for Nirvana.

Burying the hatchet on their long-simmering feud, Love, 49, turned to give Grohl a hug and later Tweeted, “The most magical part of the evening. Thank you Dave, love you. I know this made him smile up there.”
