Megan Hilty Is Looking Forward to Her Second Baby: 'I'm Really Excited to See Our Daughter as a Big Sister'

Broadway star Megan Hilty is pregnant with her second child — a little boy! And the thing she’s looking forward to most when baby number two arrives has everything to do with her firstborn.

“I’m really excited to see our daughter as a big sister,” Hilty, 35, tells PEOPLE of her 2-year-old little girl Viola Philomena with husbandBrian Gallagher.

“I think she’s gonna be a great big sister. I’m really excited about that,” continues the actress and singer, whose new holiday album A Merry Little Christmas is available now.

Hilty and her musician husband announced their second baby on the way in September, with a hilarious Instagram announcement showing Gallagher “drinking for two” and Hilty “eating for two.”

“We always have to do something silly,” Hilty explains. “We can’t take ourselves seriously at all.”

She adds that she got the matching T-shirts from Zoey’s Attic. “I thought they were amazing, and I was like, ‘We can take such a great picture with this.’ ”

When asked what the family — known for their expressive holiday photos — has up their sleeve for this Christmas, Hilty admits their busy schedule has influenced their photo plans.

“This one, because we were moving and everything, it has a moving theme,” she explains. “So we’re surrounded by our actual boxes. The kid’s in a box, the dog’s in a box. Everybody’s wrapped in bubble wrap.”
