Eddie Redmayne Walks the Red Carpet with His Leading Lady - Pregnant Wife Hannah

Eddie Redmayne continues to enjoy the awards season on Sunday at the Oscars, making his way down the red carpet with his wife Hannah, who’s pregnant with the couple’s first child.

While The Danish Girl star looked dapper in a traditional tux by Alexander McQueen, Hannah stayed true to her signature style with a flowing black gown — also by the designer — that kept her baby bump under wraps.

Redmayne, 34, is nominated for Best Actor for his role in The Danish Girl. If the actor wins, he’ll be the sixth star to take home consecutive wins — he won Best Actor in 2015 for his role in The Theory of Everything.

He isn’t nervous about his chances — “I’m not going to win,” he joked to PEOPLE — but Redmayne is concerned about keeping his expectant wife feeling her best.

“I’m trying to keep her hydrated. That’s my job,” the actor explains. “I’m excited. But I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. We just bought our first baby book. So there’s the first step. We’re waiting to find out [the sex]. We want to be surprised. It will be a big surprise either way! I figure part of it I’ll get from the book and part will be just instinct.”

On Saturday, Redmayne rocked a green suit — while Hannah went for another black dress — for dinner at Madeo restaurant in West Hollywood.

At Friday’s The Film Is GREAT Reception, also in West Hollywood, Hannah again chose black — but with a shorter hemline! — while Redmayne went with a burgundy and black checked suit.

In December, PEOPLE confirmed the couple were expecting a baby. “I think saint might be the word,” Redmayne previously told PEOPLE of his wife, an antiques dealer. “She’s an absolute saint.”
