Sarah O'Hare & Lachlan Murdoch welcome a son

Australian model Sarah O’Hare & Lachlan Murdoch have welcomed a baby boy, Kalan Alexander, weighing 8 pound 6 ounces (or 3.73kg for you metric folk) on November 9th or 10th.

Kalan is the eight grandchild for News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch, 73, according to News Corp’s the Australian newspaper. Lachlan Murdoch is Rupert Murdoch’s oldest son.

According to the 20,000 names website, Kalan is a variant of an Irish/Celtic name that means warrior. In the US, Kalan or Kalen is not a very common name- it ranked 860th-981st most popular between 1992 and 1998 in the Social Security’s 1998 Name Distributions Study.
