Calling into FOX and Friends, the 70-year-old Republican presidential nominee said he would not be happy if his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton was elected president. “If I don’t win I will consider it a tremendous waste of time, energy and money,” he said. “I will not consider it great if I don’t win.” The statement was similar to comments Trump made at his rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Monday — one of five rallies he held across five different states. There, he also cast his “Make America Great Again” campaign as a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the country — offering no path forward if he loses. Scott Eisen/Getty Images “Go vote because believe me, if we don’t win, all of us, honestly, we’ve all wasted our time,” he said. “They may say good things about us as a movement. It won’t mean a damn thing.” “There has never been a movement like this,” he said. “It’s not going to happen again.” In both places, Trump said that he has invested over $100 million into his bid — though the most recent Federal Election Commission report has his contribution number at just over $67 million. He called the political movement his campaign has created, “the greatest political phenomena.” He also praised the people who he’s met along the campaign trail. “We have a great, great country,” he said. “The people of this country are incredible. I’ve been all over this country — I’ve met the people at every level. If people say, ‘What have you learned?’ That’s what I’ve learned. The people of this country are amazing.” He said the experience has changed him. “I see so many hopes and so many dreams out there that didn’t happen that could have happened with proper leadership,” he said.
