Sean Hannity Moves Fox News Broadcast to New Home in Florida: ‘I Am Finished with New York’

The conservative primetime host has long criticized Democrat-led states like New York, where Fox News is based, but hadn't previously changed his residency

Sean Hannity is no longer a New York resident. The conservative Fox News personality, 62, announced on Tuesday that he has moved to Florida and will now host his TV and radio shows from the Sunshine State.

“We are now beginning our first broadcast from my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida,” Hannity said on his daily iHeartRadio show. “I am out. I am done. I am finished in New York.”

Hannity has long been threatening the move, which follows former President Donald Trump changing his own residency from New York to Florida in 2019. Over the years the conservative pundit has repeatedly criticized Democrat-led states like New York, where Fox News is based.

He elaborated on his decision to move during his Hannity broadcast on Tuesday night, rattling off some of the reasons why he wanted to be in Florida.

“Like so many Americans, I left New York for good, and am now in the state with, let’s see: warmer weather, law and order, better education, more freedom, better quality of life and guess what? No state income tax,” he declared.

Hannity, who had regularly broadcasted from his home studio in Long Island, purchased a $5.3 million townhouse in Palm Beach in April 2021, according to Palm Beach Daily News. He did not list the townhouse as his primary residence in the latest property-tax records, the outlet reported.

Trump, 77, currently resides in Palm Beach at his Mar-a-Lago estate after vacating New York following the end of his presidency.

The increasingly right-leaning state of Florida — which does not levy a state income tax — has become a magnet for wealthy conservatives in recent years.

Hannity noted on his show that he "feels a lot better" in Florida, a state he said "shares my values," according to The Hill.

“And if anything, I’m probably late and behind the curve, and many others have made the move beforehand — and there’s not a single person that I know that made a move like this that is not happy that they’ve made it,” he claimed, per the outlet.
