Brittany Snow's Guide to Living Your Best Life in 8 Easy Steps

Her skincare routine is simpler than you'd think

With one glance at Brittany Snow, it’s obvious that the 30-year-old star takes perfect care of her skin. Dig a little deeper, you’ll know that skincare is a passion of hers — she’s had a partnership with Bioré for years, and now she’s taking it one step further by signing on with Coppertone to promote safe sun. So, let’s see, she’s got great skin, beautiful hair, awesome style, a role in the best movie franchise of the 2010s (that would be Pitch Perfect, where two of her best friends met and fell in love — and she’ll soon be a bridesmaid in Anna Camp and Skylar Astin’s wedding!). So yeah, we’re going to take our time together to get her full guide to life.

1. You should never not be wearing sunscreen — even on cloudy days

“My biggest mistake is always when I don’t put on sunscreen, which is now very rare, but I burn so easily,” she tells PeopleStyle. “I used to be called tomato and lobster as a kid, because when I would go to the beach with my friends everybody would tan and I would just turn red, and I would peel. Even on cloudy days when I thought there was no way to get burned, I would get burned. So growing up it was always really important for me to be putting it on constantly.”

2. A fear of breakouts is not an excuse for skipping SPF
“The Coppertone Clearly Sheer is my favorite right now because it is so lightweight and breathable,” she shares. “I use it under my makeup when I have to do anything for work or when I’m outside and not wearing makeup at all, but it’s breathable and it doesn’t clog your pores.”

3. For the sake of your skin, less is sometimes more
“I always use a lot of organic products,” Snow says. “Sometimes, the good old-fashioned organic stuff is nice to not complicate your skin. When it comes down to it, you want to make sure you wash your face, exfoliate and use a really great sunscreen and moisturizer that’s keeping it simple.”

4. When it comes to hair color, always change it up
“I’ve pretty much been every single color of hair, which I really love,” she says. “Everyone always makes fun of me that they never know what my new hair color is going to be and I really actually enjoy that because I feel like I can be a different person and it’s just so much fun to change it up. I’m really looking forward to going back to red for Pitch Perfect 3, and I’m going to do it in a gradual way because I really like the honey color. So going back to strawberry blonde and then red will be my next thing.”

5. Never underestimate the power of a Pinterest-inspired braid
“I have a Pinterest board with braids,” she says about her love for wearing fun plaits. “I love braids. Actually, one of my favorite things to do to my own hair when I don’t know what to do with it is just putting it in a cool braid. I know how to French braid — I grew up doing that — so it’s just lots of different ways that I’ve learned how to do that. I just always try to have fun when it comes to my hair and I just really trust my hairstylist, as well.”

6. Always be prepared with red lipstick
“One of my favorite things to do is collect lipsticks, so I have cases and cases filled. I just think it completely changes your look from fun and flirty to being classy and edgy,” says the star. “I always keep a red lip in my bag just in case I have to go out last minute.”

7. When in doubt, stripe it out
“Half my wardrobe is stripes!”

8. Every special occasion is an opportunity to go all-out
“I don’t really dress up that much in my normal life,” Snow says about her day-to-day style. “I’m a pretty low-key dresser when it comes to fashion, even though I really enjoy it and the art of it, especially when I have to do red carpet things. It’s a chance to really go for it and glam it up and become someone else.”
