In May, it was reported that Mary-Kate requested an emergency order to file for divorce from Sarkozy, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. However, her request for an emergency order was denied by a New York State Supreme Court judge, and she officially filed the day the courts reopened on May 25, after closing amid the coronavirus pandemic. The couple had been married four-and-a-half years.

In September 2021, Ashley made her first red carpet appearance in two years, attending the YES 20th Anniversary Celebration at The Maybourne Beverly Hills in California.

Ashley attended the event with boyfriend, Louis Eisner, whose father, Eric Eisner, is the founder of YES. For the night out, the designer wore a dark, all-black ensemble, including a black coat, while Louis kept it simple in a black jacket and white dress shirt.

That month, the sisters unveiled The Row's first kids' line, a gender-neutral capsule collection.
