During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Supernatural creator Eric Kripke — who also created the The Boys — said “it’s fair” to say that not only could Padalecki, 41, join the Prime Video series for its fifth and final season, but it’s also possible he’ll reunite onscreen with Ackles, who has previously appeared in The Boys and the spin-off show Gen V as Soldier Boy. "The value of that [reunion] is to break the internet. So we'll see whether it's right for the story," Kripke told the outlet. "But yes, it's occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that's appealing." 24 Photos of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles' 'Supernatural' Brotherly Love Through the Years Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy on 'The Boys.'. Courtesy of Prime Video Padalecki, for his part, was very transparent in an interview with Deadline on June 21 whether he'd be interested in joining The Boys. “The answer is yes,” he said. "I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever," the actor added. Padalecki — whose CW action drama series, Walker, comes to end after four seasons on June 26 — went on to share why appearing on The Boys would be fitting given his work with Kripke, 50, and Ackles, 46, on Supernatural. “I mean, he [Eric] created Supernatural. He created Sam Winchester. He created Ruby [Genevieve Padalecki], who I ended up marrying and starting a family with,” he said. “I adore him. I adore his humor. I adore him as a person, his storytelling. So I can’t wait. I don’t think [The Boys season 5] films until next year, but I will be ready when he makes the phone call. I’ll just say, ‘Okay, when am I flying out?'” Jared Padalecki Wishes 'Brother' Jensen Ackles a Happy Birthday as 'Supernatural' Comes to an End Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on 'Supernatural.'. Warner Bros Tv/Kobal/Shutterstock It wouldn’t be the first time an actor from Supernatural has popped up on The Boys. Jeffrey Dean Morgan appears as Kessler this season but Kripke acknowledged things are still coming together for season 5. “I don't have the role for him [Jared] yet just because we haven't cooked it up,” he said. “We're still really early in the season 5 break, but it does seem like the planets are aligning. Barring any unforeseen disaster, it seems like it'll happen. Again, I don't know what the character is, I don't know if it's one episode or more. I genuinely know a total of zero about all of that. I'm not being coy. I really don't know."
