T.J. Holmes Didn't Correct Someone Who Called Amy Robach His Wife: 'Nice Ring to It'

T.J. Holmes doesn’t mind if someone calls Amy Robach his wife.

During the most recent episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast, which aired on June 25, Holmes recalled a recent experience in which a store employee offered to check “on [his] wife,” referring to Robach.

“I didn't correct her,” Holmes, 46, said. “Later, we were checking out and we were left. She said, ‘You guys are so cute,’ and all this. And she said, ‘You guys boyfriend and girlfriend or husband and wife?’ And my answer was—”

“Both,” Robach, 51, chimed in, adding, “And I think they thought that we were husband and wife, and it was sweet that you were also saying I'm your girlfriend, too. 'Is she your wife or your girlfriend? And you said both.' And they said, ‘Good answer.’”

Robach added that she "wouldn't" correct someone who assumed she and TJ are married.

"I would never take offense to that,” she said. “That's an honest assumption at our age.”

“It had a nice ring to it,” Holmes acknowledged. “I didn't mind it at all.”

Relationship titles aside, Robach and Holmes are in a good place, based on Amy & T.J. episodes that have aired in recent months. In one February episode, she admitted that she hoped to elope in Fiji for her third wedding. The pair also discussed engagement rings in an April episode.

Although they weren't sure about eventually getting married, Robach made it clear that at the very least, she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Holmes.

It's a far cry from November 2022, when the former GMA3 hosts’ relationship went public, igniting controversy. At the time, Robach and Holmes were secretly separated from their spouses, with Robach being married to Andrew Shue while Holmes was married to Marilee Fiebig

“We had been in the trenches together on television, in a very high-stress situation in the network newsroom, and we had been there for each other in our darkest moments,” Robach said during an episode of Amy & T.J., which was filmed live in New York City on June 10. “We started leaning on each other in so many emotional ways. And it was just there was such a depth to what we had. It was so different than anything I've ever experienced.”

By the summer of 2022, Holmes realized “something was evolving” between him and Robach. Well before anything physical happened, he confessed that he was in love with her.

Over the past few months, Robach and Holmes have become more comfortable showcasing their relationship within the public eye, with many of their romantic outings occurring both at home and abroad. In December 2023, Robach and Holmes made their red carpet debut as a couple at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball 2023.
