Garth Brooks is an American country singer and songwriter. He rose to fame in 1989 with the release of his eponymous album, Garth Brooks, the first of 13 studio albums. He is the only artist in history to achieve eight diamond-certified albums throughout his career and remains the top-selling solo artist in U.S. history, with 157 million album sales worldwide. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
