Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan is an English TV personality and journalist. He is a former U.K. tabloid editor, starting at The Sun in 1988 and moving to News of the World in 1994. In 1995, he became editor of the Daily Mirror, a position he was fired from in 2004 for authorizing the publication of fake photos of British soldiers abusing an Iraqi prisoner. He has worked on several ITV shows including serving as a judge on Britain's Got Talent from 2007 to 2010 and hosting Piers Morgan's Life Stories, which ran from 2009 to 2021. In 2008, he won The Celebrity Apprentice. He was also a judge on America's Got Talent from 2006 to 2011 and hosted Piers Morgan Live on CNN from 2011 to 2014. In 2015, Morgan joined ITV's Good Morning Britain as a full-time host. He left the show in March 2021 after walking off the show on-air when one of his co-hosts took issue with his criticisms of Meghan Markle following her interview with Oprah Winfrey. He is known for his multiple controversies, including his alleged participation in the U.K.'s phone hacking scandal — which he has denied — and his frequent controversial comments about celebrities, including Markle.
