Season 3 ofThe Bear may be back soon, but one ice cream sundae from season 2 is still on our minds.

Ayo Edebiri's character Sydney visits classic Chi-Town restaurants in a drool-worthy montage while Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) is busy putting out fires in his restaurant. One of Sydney's stops is to Margie’s Candies, a century-old candy and ice cream parlor, to try its classic ice cream sundae and get the scoop on the local food scene.

Peter George Poulos opened up the old school sweets store in 1921. More than 10 years later, the shop was renamed after Peter's son George's wife, Margie Michaels, in 1933. Today, the fourth generation is still handing out hand-dipped chocolates and over-the-top ice cream creations.

Classic Hot Fudge Sundae

1 cup heavy cream

⅓ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup lightly packed light brown sugar

2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

⅛ tsp. fine sea salt

1 oz. bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped

⅔ cups sifted Dutch-process cocoa blend (2½ oz.)

¼ tsp. vanilla extract

Ice cream, for serving

Whipped cream, chopped nuts, sprinkles and maraschino cherries, for topping

1. Stir together cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter and salt in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring often, until sugar is dissolved, about 4 minutes. Add chopped chocolate; whisk until melted, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat. Add cocoa; whisk until no lumps remain.

2. Return saucepan to stove over low heat; simmer, whisking constantly, until glossy, 15 to 20 seconds. (Do not let it boil.) (Note: If the sauce is too thick for pouring, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cream until you’ve reached a desired consistency.) Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour hot fudge sauce over ice cream; add toppings and serve.
