Even if Travis Kelce takes a bad golf swing, he's still Taylor Swift's boyfriend, as one fan reminded him at the 2024 American Century Championship.

The NFL player, who is participating in the celebrity charity tournament at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada from Friday, July 12, until Sunday, July 14, received some comforting words after hitting a bad shot.

In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), the 34-year-old athlete is seen swinging a golf club at the ball before immediately saying, “Oh no!”

Then, a fan yelled, “It’s alright, you still got Taylor!” The Kansas City Chiefs tight end pointed to the crowd and replied, “You ain’t lying there.”

The crowd laughed at his response as he handed his golf club to a caddie. Kelce waved at the crowd before walking off to his next hole on the course.

The 14-time Grammy winner, 34, was not far from mind, as several of her songs played as Kelce teed off during the first and second rounds.

At one point, Kelce bopped his head and sang along to a remix of Swift's “Lavender Haze” from from her 2022 Midnights album, as seen in an social video from NBC Sports Bay Area & CA.

Other songs that played while the footballer prepared to swing his golf club included “Fortnight” from her 2024 album, The Torture Poet’s Department, and “Love Story” from her 2008 Fearless album.

Swift, who wasn't in attendance because she's out of the country on her global Eras Tour, made sure to show her support for him this week by liking a pair of posts on Instagram that celebrated her boyfriend being voted the top tight end in the NFL.

The rankings posted to the ESPN NFL’s Instagram were compiled based on surveys given to executives, coaches and scouts in the league and named the top 10 players in 11 different NFL positions. The Kansas City Chiefs also commented on the achievement on Instagram, which Swift also liked.

Kelce is playing alongside his brother Jason Kelce in the ACC tournament as their father, Ed Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, cheer them on from the sidelines.

Several other sports stars — including Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Flacco and Kyle Juszczyk — also took part in the tournament, along with celebrities such as Don Cheadle, Michael Peña, Rob McElhenney and Miles Teller.
