Benedict Cumberbatch visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, and he was surprisingly game to talk about his recent wedding and impending fatherhood.

When Jimmy Kimmel mentioned Cumberbatch’s Valentine’s Day wedding with Sophie Hunter, the actor, 38, joked that he wasted no time visiting the late-night show because “I felt bad about you not coming.”

In the spirit of Cumberbatch’s working honeymoon, Kimmel then produced piña coladas, changed the backdrop to look like a tropical island and promised the Oscar nominee, “Later we’ll make love.”

Kimmel also offered belated wedding presents to Cumberbatch: whisks, a loaf pan, a pepper grinder, an oven mitt and an avocado slicer.

He also issued congratulations for the Imitation Game star’s “Cumberbun in the oven” and asked if the baby will take his last name. “Poor child, I think it’ll have to,” said Cumberbatch, keeping mum on the baby’s sex. “That’s kind of the tradition.”

Kimmel suggested names beginning with a Q so the child would go by “Q. Cumberbatch.” (Think about it … we’ll wait.)

“Too soon,” Cumberbatch responded with a laugh.

And this wouldn’t be a Cumberbatch interview without a photobomb shout-out. Regarding last year’s Oscars prank on U2, Cumberbatch said with a laugh, “There was a lot of vodka being passed around on the red carpet, which I think is one of the reasons I did the photobombing. I blame it on the vodka.”

Something tells us he won’t be using that excuse for too much longer.
