Jamie-Lynn Sigler has been battling multiple sclerosis for 15 years, and the memories of all the treatments she’s tried are still as sharp as ever in her brain.

“I have tried – from what I know – every alternative treatment,” the actress recently told WebMD for their June issue, just months after revealing her MS diagnosis to PEOPLE in January.

“I went to the Dominican Republic, and I had fetal stem cells injected in my spine for an incredible amount of money. It didn’t work,” continued The Sopranos alum, 35. “I had this invasive therapy [venous drainage of the brain], where they put something in a vein in your thigh and thread it up to your neck. That didn’t work.”

Sigler went on to list other treatments she’s tried over the years.

“I’ve taken all kinds of pills. I’ve done all types of diets, all types of mind/body/soul, Eastern/Western [treatments],” she said. “You name it, I’ve tried it.”

Now, the recently married star, who shares son Beau, 2, with husband Cutter Dykstra, works with a neurologist to keep her symptoms at bay with a combination of medication and a healthy lifestyle.

While she avoids running and wearing high heels, she still exercises regularly.

“I do Pilates twice a week with a private instructor,” she said. “Once in a while, I’ll go to a spin class, lock myself in that bike and make it whatever type of class I want.”

She also makes it a point to eat well: “When I don’t eat right, I feel it,” she said. “So I’m all about juicing, protein shakes, eggs, fruits and veggies. I love roasting vegetables.”

And while she still struggles, she’s learned how to live with the disease.

“I’m uncomfortable 24/7,” she admitted. “I’m always a little stiff, I’m always a little achy. But I’ve been this way for so long, it’s my normal.”

Despite her struggles, Sigler isn’t giving up on the small screen – in fact, she landed gigs on two series – Freeform’s Baby Daddy and CBS’ CSI: Cyber – and says coming forward about her health issue has been a turning point.

“I feel physically better because I don’t have this stress and this fear that followed me around everywhere,” she said. “I really feel like I can go back to dreaming and hoping again.”
