Tinsley Mortimer Sobs Over Relationship with 'Controlling' Boyfriend: 'I Don't Know What to Do'

Wednesday's Real Housewives of New York City will feature Tinsley Mortimer getting real about her on-again, off-again relationship with CouponCabin founder Scott Kluth

Tinsley Mortimer‘s gets emotional on Wednesday’s Real Housewives of New York City, as she discusses her relationship with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Scott Kluth.

PEOPLE has an exclusive clip from the episode. In it, Mortimer, 43, breaks down in tears about the uncertainty in her romance with the CouponCabin founder.

“He’s a very different person than every person I’ve ever dated,” she says, crying. “He has controlling ways about him.”

“It’s a juggling act,” she adds. “Every day is a new f—ing headache. … I don’t know what to do.”

Mortimer has been open during her three seasons on RHONY about the fact that she wants to settle down and have start a family. She met Kluth, who is based in Chicago, back in February 2017 on a blind double date set up by then-costar Carole Radziwill.

Though the two have split and gotten back together a few times, Mortimer has said that she believes Kluth is “definitely” the one and has discussed having children with him (Mortimer’s frozen her eggs, as she’s oft to mention). The two have also worked together, with Mortimer taking a job as an account manager at the site.

Her relationship with Kluth doesn’t seem to sit well in the eyes of her RHONY costars, though.

In the clip, Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, Barbara Kavovit and more grill Mortimer about her relationship, questioning why the two are still together.

“Tinsley, you can’t just be happy when it’s on his terms. It doesn’t work that way,” Frankel tells Mortimer — who shoots back, “It does in his life!”

“It’s not going to work in your life,” Frankel says, slamming Mortimer for “setting women back 100 years.”

Eventually, Frankel softens her tone a bit with Mortimer, comforting the sobbing socialite. “I’m sorry, I really didn’t know how sensitive it was and where the line is,” the Skinnygirl maven says. “I’m really really sorry. I go through it myself. I did not really understand. You just don’t see that happy and it seems like your relationship is in a box.”

“You’re a strong beautiful woman, you don’t need to be controlled,” Frankel says. “Be happy. He has to accept you for who you are.”

Mortimer remains tearful. “I love the guy, okay?” she laments. “I don’t know what else to say. …. It’s not fair.”

“It seems like it’s too much pressure,” Frankel says. “I’m really sorry, I’m really sorry. It seems like you must be under a tremendous amount of pressure and stress and it doesn’t seem happy. If you were my best girlfriend I’d say we have to pull you out of this. You have to be a strong woman and not let him drive. I’m really sorry.”

“I have said to Tinsley, ‘Your’e not driving,’ ” Frankel tells fans. “I don’t even think that Tinsley’s in the car and she certainly doesn’t know where the car is going.”

Kluth was the first public romance Mortimer’s been in since her tumultuous relationship with ex-boyfriend Alexander “Nico” Fanjul, whom she had dated since December 2012, ended last year. (Mortimer was arrested in April 2016 for allegedly trespassing at his Palm Beach home — though there was a history of alleged abuse prior to that, including an incident on Christmas Day in 2013 which found Mortimer hospitalized with head lacerations.)

She was previously married to Robert Livingston “Topper” Mortimer.

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesday (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
